In issue 2.19 of the glossy art magazine “stayinart” you can read an interview by Jana Noritsch with me about science art and my works. This is remarkable because this art form finds little public space, both in the media and in the public sphere. Click herefor the interview online
On february 19th, 2019 my music work “Music for 5 pianos” was played first time in radio at radiopanic in the feature “Indiedrome”. I was proudly introduced as “pioneer of electronic music”, here to the Show.
Also, a week beforehand, on february 12th 2019, my songs “Running” and “Voyager24” have been aired first time, here the link to the Show
GONZAI online magazine did an interview with me about my music and work with machines and robots. Now it has been published online in their magazine with many photos and links (french language, some links don’t work anymore). The interview spins around my thoughts and works with machinery in sound and physical art. I like the somehow funny and dystopic style of the interview text.
Here is an excerpt of the introduction: Après une pause de presque trois décennies, Olaf Schirm – son vrai nom – continue avec le même état d’esprit : d’une part jouer et expérimenter avec ses synthés, et de l’autre combattre les dérives de la machine, la paresse de la pop et le futur surinformatisé qui nous attend. Voici donc son cyber-plan de bataille.
I just rediscovered a short (10min) recording by a viewer of my biographic talk about ART THINKING – how an artist thinks and how this determines his actions.
The keynote took place at DAM GALLERY in Berlin, which kindly provided the venue for Wolfram Roßner’s (briefly shown at the beginning) young project: Art Thinking.
(The video was recorded in 2019, the project has been discontinued due the pandemic or is dormant).
In the keynote I summarized my entire career in bullet points for the first time and made it accessible to the public. The format was a 10 minute impulse talk. The audio is unfortunately not very good, but I think you can understand most of it (german language only). Enjoy!
